Provence has a special place in my heart and was of course my summer home for over 15 years. Painting trips spiraled outward from near Cannes to take in towns such as St Paul de Vence, Fayence, Aix, Gordes, Montpellier, Tourtour, Arles, St Remy and everywhere in between. I would have to confess to knowing Provence better than my native Fife and I have certainly painted it’s villages and towns a good deal more often. Although the far views are always stunning I still find myself attracted by the built environment with the bustle and colour of everyday life in Provence.
